Vision

Generate breakthroughs in understanding and preventing TBI through a physics-basedmultiscale framework with an interdisciplinary team approach.

  • Physics-based: We are revising the world’s understanding of TBI by mechanistically linking injury to the physical forces of an exposure.
  • Multiscale: In TBI, brain function is disrupted at the micro or nano scale while protection solutions and treatments are implemented at the macro scale.
  • ​Team approach: The persistent challenges of TBI require expertise from a broad array of disciplines and close partnership with industry to accelerate the translation of our scientific breakthroughs to US warfighter and consumer products.
